Brain test

Hi , in this post you will play a brain test that probably will make you laugh  a lot :)

Random Knowledge

Dunno, felt like posting random stuff you may or may not need to know for life, but hey, it may be useful for, you know, looking smart or making small talk.

- A lion eating the sun is a symbol used in alchemy. It has double meaning; it may symbolize the removing of impurities of ore to stay with the precious, (gold) or it can also symbolize that being so obsessed with gold will eat your soul away. Weird... Also, it's a frequently spotted symbol in Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward (AKA VLR) a pretty fun and deep videogame for 3DS and PSVita.

- Drinking a glass of wine a day extends life.

- Bethoven's 5th Symphony has the same rythm as a "v" in Morse Code.
(Get it? FIFTH = V)

- In electric switches "o" means off while "-" means on. When the same button  is used to turn on and off a symbol like the one in the photo is displayed.

- No word rhymes with purple (excluding proper names... sorry Myrtle)

- Most scientists have agreed that the egg came before the hen.

- The area of a sphere is 4 πr².

Aaand... that's it! Did you know these things? Well, you might as well add these to your useless knowledge inventory!

Weird facts: Nylon

Do you know nylon? You know that thing, tranparent-y thread used as a line for fishing rods? Or maybe you know it as the colorful thread used in bags and clothes. Well, anyways, here's a weird fact, nylon wasn't called "nylon" because it was a commercial name. It was called like that because it was, unknowingly, developed by two cities at the same time. They then presented it at the same seminar, so they gave it the name of the two cities. These cities were New York and London. NY and LONdon. NY + LON = NYLON! Did you know that? Pretty cool, huh?

Weird (slightly disgusting) Fact:

Well here's a turn for the weirder facts. Apparently, about half the people wipe their behinds after pooping sitting, while the other half does it standing. The funny thing is, one half never knew the other existed and sees what they're doing as weird. They'd be like "ZOMG, you wipe standing/sitting? How's that possible? I never thought anybody did that!"

What's that? How do I wipe? Um... that's more of a business between me and my rear. However, if you just wanna scream the the Internet how you maintain your tooshie hygiene, let us know in the comments section!

(Lol, tooshie's a funny word.)

Amazing Optical Illusions

Hi , in this post you will see awesome and amazing optical illusions that are going to play with your brain and make you laugh and think a little bit.

1 ) You might be wondering why this is included. The black cords against a checkerboard background obviously form a spiral, right? Well, you'd be wrong. This is actually not a spiral. It's just many layers of circles. Try to trace each circle with your mouse cursor.

2 ) In the Zollner illusion, there are two sets of lines. Crosses on different lines create angling. Actually, these lines are parallel to each other.

3 ) A blivet is a paradox. When you look at it from the top, you see two descending rectangular rods. When you look at it from the bottom, you see three ascending circular rods.

4 )  This image is called "Rotating Snakes". Stare at this for a few seconds. Do the circles appear to move? This is a motion illusion; the circles look like they're moving, but they're stationary the whole time.

Just a thought

Some days ago I was talking with a friend and we got thinking. You know toy dinosaurs? The ones that are all like "RWAAAAAR!!!!" when your a kid and "..." when you're not? Well, we were thinking, maybe plastic dinos are actual dinos.
Look, it's Barney!

What? You lost it? Well, maybe a little, but if you think it through, it's not that complex. Toy dinos are made of plastic. Plastic is made out of petroleum. Petroleum is made from the remains of dead animals and plants. Most of those animals were dinos. Ta da! There you go. Next time you see a toy dino remember that it may not be as harmless as it appears...

... grrr...

A Strange Company

Hello! As you know, blenders are very useful and practical, you can make smoothies, crush ice, and produce juice with them. In this case, however, what is important to this gentleman is not the energy consumption, the color, or the price. What matters is to show how powerful and destructive his blenders of the brand Blendtec are.
Check out the following video. Pretty crazy, huh?

Top Ten Miiverse Drawings

Hi all! I haven't posted in a while, so I decided to make this list for you to enjoy. For those that don't know, Miiverse is a social service provided by Nintendo that allows you to post short messages, handwritten notes, or drawings using your WiiU or your computer. To use this service, you must have a WiiU and a Nintendo Network ID. However, I believe you can scroll through Miiverse with limited functionality here.

My best drawing. It's nowhere near the Top 10 but hey, I'm the boss here.
Well, let's get started already. There are a lot of talented people out there in Miiverse, so it was hard to make a Top Ten. Remember, this is only my opinion and my list judging the drawings I've seen. I will not take two posts from the same author so that everyone can share a piece of the glory. Also, I will try and get different styles and themes. Obviously, none of the images are mine.
If you want them removed for any reason, leave a comment and I will immediately do so.
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Number 10: American Eagle
Be free...
The American Eagle has always been a symbol of courage and freedom. Even though Miiverse is usually about games, some off-topic stuff slip around. The drawing is rather shocking, I especially like the feathers and the beak. Really cool (and I suppose patriotic) drawing. Credits to Mimi.

Number 9: Wii U
The WiiU and its GamePad.
While it may or may not bring the same shock as the others, it is clear this piece took a whole deal of work and deserves to be here. I really like how it looks both overall and as a mosaic. I think it's a nice piece done by a talented individual. Great proportions and lots of patience. Credits to Si.

Number 8:  Pokémon
From left to right: Xerneas and Yvetal
With the new Pokémon X and Y games coming out, Miiverse has been flooded with drawings and speculation. Here, the new legendaries, Xerneas and Yvetal, are showcased by the drawer. Really cool and detailed, pretty neat overall. Credits to Nandito.

Number 7: Pikmin
Who doesn't love 8-bit pikmin dancing?
While it may not be a detailed realistic drawing, the drawing style the artist used has its charm. It also holds merit because how difficult it is to draw straight lines on the GamePad. Pretty nice drawing, has a certain charm to it. Also, pretty nice work with the frame. Credits to The Hat.
Number 6: Optical Illusion
Round and round it goes...
These kinds of drawings make me feel compassion. The pain, the tears, the patience. I could never have enough willpower to spend so many hours doing drawings like this. It might hurt a bit, but if you keep staring at it it sorta swirls around. Really cool. Credits to Chrίs.

Number 5: Kokiri Sword
Navi and the Kokiri Sword.
There's something about this one that just mesmerizes me. It's so simple yet complex. I really don't know why I like it so much. Absolutely awesome. Credits to arugam.

Number 4: Ganondorf
Ganondorf, the dark lord...
Again, another awe-inspiring representation of the Legend of Zelda's characters. The way this artist uses shadows is just amazing. Really, really awesome. It really brings out that dark prognostic Link dreamt at the beginning of Ocarina of Time. Credits to Stephen.

Draw your sword...
Number 3: Link
Okay, I know I'm putting a lot of Zelda stuff in here, but it's just too awesome. Really, there are awesome representations of link in Miiverse. Most of them are really talented. From the bunch, I chose this awesome one of his face. Really, awesome drawing. I, I just don' t have words for it, okay? Credits to ★Erick★.

Number 2:  Donkey Kong
Splash!
It was really hard to pick a best for this artist. Really he is amazing. I don't think this drawing represents his usual drawing style, but I found it to be a very nice picture. A monkey by the name of donkey riding a swordfish under the moonlight. Very poetic.  Credits to Michael.

Number 1: Toad
Isn't this just pure awesome?
This artist is amazing. I couldn't really pick a best drawing because they are all so full of talent, and they all go by the same style, so I just chose the first picture I saw. I think her Darunia drawing is also very great, but I chose a more recognizable character instead. She is so very talented at drawing pixel by pixel. She seriously is over the top. She' s also pretty nice, should you ever talk with her in Miiverse. Like most Miiverse artists, her friend list is full, so you might wanna follow her to keep up with the goodness. Credits to sas'.

 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, hope you enjoyed the list, it was really hard to put it together. Really, extremely awesome. I hope you enjoyed! Miiverse is exclusive property of  Nintendo (2012). The pictures are property of the people stated above. Thanks for reading!

Mother´s Day

Mother's Day is a celebration honoring mothers and motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, most commonly in March or May.
Mother's Day

The modern holiday of Mother's Day was first celebrated in 1908, when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother in Grafton, West Virginia. She then began a campaign to make "Mother's Day" a recognized holiday in the United States. Although she was successful in 1914, she was already disappointed with its commercialization by the 1920s. Jarvis' holiday was adopted by other countries and it is now celebrated all over the world.

Happy Mother´s Day! Yaaaaay!

Huggies Brazil has recently made a huge advancement in the history of diapers. What did they do? No it´s not a jetpack diaper. Huggies brazil has just revealed a prototype called TweetPee. That way, parents can change their diapers faster than ever!
The device connects to an iPhone app and can detect changes in humidity. When it does, it sends a message to the app alerting you that your baby needs a fresh pair. Not just that, the app keeps track of your Huggies stock and even let's you buy new diapers online. What do you think? Let us know in the comments section!

Weird Facts: Strange and curious

In the 1920s, a tourist town called Villa Epecuen was established along the shore of a lake by the same name. It's located about 600km southwest of the Argentinian capital of Buenos Aires.
The Lake is remarkable for its extremely  high salt content. In fact, it has 10 times more salt than any ocean. The therapeutic powers of these waters have been known for centuries and are said to cure many diseases.
On November 1985, a higher than usual rainfall broke the rock and earth dam that protected the town and flooded it with up to 4 feet of water. Similar incidents happened occasionally, and so, by 1993, the whole town was submerged in 10 meters of water. The town was deserted and destroyed.
Nearly 25 years later, in 2009, the wet weather stoped and the waters receded. The village began to resurface. However, up to this point, only 1 person has moved back: 81-year-old Pablo Novak says he is OK being there by himself and that he remembers the golden days of the town back in the 60s. He  lives in a small house completely alone, no pets, no spouse, no children.

Nowadays, the city
is a very cool touristic point in Argentina, due to its sights and medicinal water.

Rayman Legends: Challenges App Review

Rayman Legends: Challenges App is an application developed and published by Ubisoft exclusively for the Wii U console. The side-scrolling platformer was released on April 25, 2013 as a free E-shop only download. The app is to be supported until the Rayman Legends is released on September 3 (US). The app can be divided into to halves. The demo half, and  the much bigger challenge half.

On the demo portion of the game, you can play three stages (Teensies in Trouble, Toad Story, and Castle Rock)  from the Rayman Legends game. This mode has two player support and various miscellaneous collectables (lums, teensies, and trophies) The stages are meant to be a demonstration of the great variety of levels the full version of the game will support.

Despite of the previous, the challenge half is the one to take the spotlight. In this mode, players are given different objectives in one of four stages. These range from collecting a certain amount of lums, reaching a point as fast as you can, or go as long as possible without dying.  New challenges will be added daily and weekly, and players will be rated according to their position in the leaderboard. Players may be granted a bronze, silver, gold, or diamond trophy according to their skill. These trophies give points to the player (1 for bronze, 5 for silver, 10 for gold, and 50 for diamond) and, provided they accumulate enough points, their awesomeness level will increase, granting them bragging rights and access to other challenges. So, here's what I think:

The Leaderboard
The Good:
- Fast paced, challenging, and quirky. The game's really fun.

- Online leaderboards, including top 10, best of your country, and best of your friends.

- Unlockable heroes and challenges

- Awesomeness levels to determine, well, awesomeness

- Full Miiverse integration

- Off-TV mode available

- Fun, asymmetrical multiplayer. (Well, at least as much as I could experience in the demo)

- Dynamic: new challenges every day

- Toggle on or off your own ghost and those of your closest competitors

The Bad:
- Poor variety of challenges. You will find yourself doing the same objectives in slightly altered stages.

- Inability to determine how far are you from the next trophy (You have no way to know how many places you will have to climb in the leaderboard for the next trophy)

- Little content on the demo portion (Well, it IS a demo, so don't take this one too seriously)

- Might glitch (It hasn't glitched on me, but apparently it has to some people. However, it's not a major, game breaking issue, so don't worry)

Conclusion:
Rayman Legends: Challenges App is extremely fun. Despite I listed four bad things, the only one that might actually affect you is the first one. However, even though the backgrounds or objectives may not change, the stage's design will. You'll find yourself going back to your Wii U every day just to play each challenge. The feeling of competition will just keep you coming back!

Score:
9.5 out of 10
Superb

Reviewed by Luigi

Interesting Fact:
This app was not planned by Ubisoft, but was made by the programers' own free will. This was because of a decision Ubisoft took without the programer's consent, which was to make the game, which was originally going to be a Wii U exclusive, available for all consoles. Because of this the game had to be delayed 5 months, and fans were really upset. So yeah, this app is like a "forgive us" gift. It's a pretty fun gift too!

Weird Facts: Strange/Creepy

In 1518, a dance plague occured in Strasbourg, France. It all started when a woman, Frau Troffea, began to dance fervently in a street in Strasbourg. Suddenly and for unkown reasons, the plague started to spread. People started to dance for days without rest, and many died due to exhaustion, heart attacks, and strokes. Even though the climax of the outbreak lasted about 5 days, the effects lasted for a month. As of yet, no one knows why the French danced to their deaths. Some say it was a generalized attack of hysteria due to the fact they were undergoing rough times. Others say it was caused by "hot blood" (What´s that, you ask? Beats me.) and some even say it was caused by the positioning of the stars or even supernatural causes. What do you think? Do you have a theory? Are you mindblown? Has this given you the key to ulock the mysteries and secrets of life? Let us know in the comments section!
